ICAI Debunks Claims of New Exam Authority, Issues Warning Against Fake News

ICAI has clarified that no fresh conducting authority is being set up to oversee CA examinations. Candidates must stay away from false news and focus on the upcoming examinations.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued an official notification debunking the false narrative of a new body being set up to conduct the Chartered Accountancy examinations. As per the institute, the news circulating in sections of the media and social media, alleging that the government is planning to set up a new authority, is incorrect and misleading.

“ICAI has taken note of the matter, and it is clarified that the information presented in the said news clip is factually incorrect and not supported by any official confirmation from the Ministry concerned,” the official notice states.

ICAI has warned the students against the miscreants disseminating fake news, asking them to stay vigilant. “In view of the above, students and stakeholders are advised not to be influenced by such unverified reports. Students are especially encouraged to remain focused on their preparation for the upcoming CA examinations scheduled to be held in May,” the notice added.
